Men's Breakfast

The G. Murray Smith, Jr. Men's Breakfast is named for its founder.  The breakfast began in 1955, meeting at 7:15 a. m. on the second Saturday of each month.  The breakfast is still held on the second Saturday but now at 8:00 a.m.  The purpose of the breakfast is to provide another avenue for fellowship for the men of the church.  A special effort is made to encourage prospective and new members to attend the breakfast.

Church Family Night

Church Family Night has evolved over the years. The dinners were started to accommodate parents who were bringing their children to choir practice and for parents who were also involved in meetings as a way for things to be easier for them so they would not have to cook supper.

Presbyterian Women

 Presbyterian Women History

In writing the ‘History of the Women of the Presbyterian Church’ I think the history should be called the ‘Perseverance of the Saints.’  Do we as Presbyterian Women of 2008 have the faith and fortitude shown by the women of our early church?

It is hard to say when the women were first spoken of as an organized group.  When the church began in 1827 on the roll were four men and eight women.  That speaks for itself.
