College Scholarships

SCHOLARSHIP GUIDELINES

1. Applicants must be active communicant member of the First Presbyterian Church of Richmond.

2. Individual awards each year will depend upon funds available and the number of eligible applicants.

3. Scholarships will be awarded after recipients have matriculated for that academic year.

4. Priority in awarding scholarships will be as follows:

· Graduate students enrolled in programs leading to full-time Christian service,

· First-time undergraduate students,

· Continuing undergraduates.

5. First-time applicants will write a one-page, double-spaced statement describing

(a) his/her active participation in the life of the Richmond First Presbyterian Church,

(b) the institution or institutions to which he/she has been admitted and

(c) what he/she hopes to achieve in life.

Continuing applicants will submit a copy of their most recent transcript and a statement of their academic plans for the upcoming year (courses to be taken, major [if chosen], etc.).

6. In all matters the Scholarship Committee shall have final discretion in the interpretation of guidelines and in the awarding of scholarships.

7. Applications of students planning to enroll in the fall semester must be submitted by July 14, 2008.
