First Presbyterian Church to Host Annual Arts and Crafts for Missions    

The First Presbyterian Church of  Richmond will host its 6th Annual Arts and Crafts for Missions on Saturday, November 21, from 9 am to 3 pm.    Crafters from around the region will gather to display their talents and offer many items for sale.  Craft items will include Christmas decorations, pottery, photography items, baskets, beaded and enameled jewelry, crafted rocks, hiking staffs, walking canes, woven scarves, painted gourds, quilted and embroidered gifts, and handmade children's toys.   

The MORRIS FORK CRAFT COOPERATIVE, comprised of crafters from 8 economically challenged counties of Kentucky, will be on hand with their products this year.  MORRIS FORK CRAFT COOPERATIVE  is a non- profit, mountain craft cooperative started in 1978 by Morris Fork Presbyterian Church as a way to bring income to wonderful, creative, mountain people.  They will present a wide variety of crafts ranging from Christmas decorations, to pot holders to turkey callers and much more!   

Also featured will be a “Silent Auction”, with a variety of items ranging from antiques to decorations,  “Kitchen Kreations” featuring baked goods, “Purse Pagoda” featuring gently used purses, a “Book Corner” which includes gently used books, puzzles, & videos,  and “Plant Treasures” to nurture during the winter and all year round!    

A delicious lunch, featuring Dale Patrick’s famous soup, along with a sandwich, drink and a homemade cookie will be available from 11:00 to 2:00 pm for only $5. 

Tickets are available in advance from members of the women’s circles at the church or at the door.     

This year proceeds will be distributed among the following: the “Gallilean Home for Exceptional People”, the “Gallilean Angel House” a home for newborn babies born to women in prison, the Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary, the Samaritan Fund at Telford Terrace, the Health Now Clinic in Richmond, which serves people without health insurance, and the Presbyterian Women’s Kentucky Mission Project.
